Your Questions Answered

The important stuff

How do I join?

Joining is easy.

First, find the class that is right for you. Classes are based on the age of the participant at 31 December.

Then, complete the Arafura Calisthenics Club Membership Form and the NT Calisthenics Registration Form and send them to arafuracalisthenics@gmail.com or bring them along to your class.

Lastly, pay your fees, pop on your dancing clothes and get to class!

How often is training?

Our training terms run with school term dates. During the term, our teams train weekly to prepare for competitions and concerts.

Attending regular training makes sure that everyone in the team can develop their skills, strength and flexibility to perform confidently.

If you can't make it to class, make sure you let your coach know!

Is there a uniform?

We have a terrific Arafura Calisthenics Club shirt that helps our participants stand out as a team and promote our club.

Our team shirts have a convenient button front so they can easily be taken on and off when hair and make-up have been done!

Shirts are $35 and can be purchased from the club

What will I need to start Calisthenics?

The most important thing to bring to class each week is a positive attitude and your team spirit!

Tinies and Future Stars need to bring a water bottle and wear a leotard or bike shorts and a singlet. â€‹

Sub Junior, Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors will also need to have an aesthetic skirt, clubs and a rod.

Clubs and rods can be bought or hired from the club. Aesthetic skirts can be borrowed from the club or purchased from DanceWorld in Winnellie.

What are the fees?

Our Fees include:

NTCA Registration - $65/$85 per year (Insurance)

Club Membership - $15 per year

Terms fees - $100 - $170 per term

Costume fee - $50 - $150 per year

Team shirt - $35

Apparatus fees vary based on size and supplier costs

You can pay your fees in full upfront or by term.

Do I have to join for the year?

Yes, if you are in a competition team it is important to stay involved with your team for the year.

The pinnacle of the Calisthenics calendar is the NT Calisthenics Association Team Championships and Frangipani Challenge held at the end of September.

Our coaches work hard to choreograph routines that are best performed by all participants so we encourage you to participate for the whole year.
